Meal Planning

I feel so much more prepared for my week if I can sit down and plan out my meals.  Breakfast is super easy and I don't put a lot of effort into it.  The boys like fruit bars or poptarts and Dustin and I do intermittent fasting and do not open our eating widows until lunch.  Lunch is usually leftovers or a sandwich so dinner is the main meal that I have to plan for.

When I start planning I make note of what 'events' we have that week.  Games, meetings, get togethers...those all get written under the day with their time.  The time will effect how quick the meal needs to be and if we are eating at the 'event' then I know I can skip planning for that day.  After I make my weekly meal plan I go under each meal and write what I need to make that meal.  I make my grocery list from that index.  I tend to make pretty easy meals and they are family friendly. We like carbs and you will see plenty of them on the list..you're welcome.

Monday- We have a soccer game at Brindlee Mountain tonight.  We plan on eating the dollar menu on the way home because we will be on the road a while for that.

Tuesday- Pork Loin and baked potatoes.  Dustin intends on smoking this but I enjoy putting one in the crockpot too.  I will make he and the boys loaded baked potatoes and I think I will have a baked sweet potato.

Wednesday-  Conecuh Alfredo with Garlic Bread.  One of our favorites around here.

Thursday- Hotdogs with Homemade Chili.  We have a soccer game at our home field. I will have the chili in the Crockpot and the hotdogs do not take long.

Friday-  Lasagna and Garlic Bread.  We like pasta and neither of these pasta meals are similar.  I buy frozen.  I learned a long time ago that Stauffer's tasted just as good as homemade without the effort.

Saturday- Chicken Fried Steak with Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, and Creamed Corn.  I buy this chicken fried steak frozen at Sam's and is delicious.  The creamed corn is from my cousin's garden and I froze it this summer.

Sunday-  This tends to be my "off" day from cooking.  Probably leftovers or I will do breakfast for supper.

Monday-Chicken Nuggets and mac and cheese.  Frozen chicken nuggets from Sam's that are some of the best ones I have ever eaten.  Brined in pickle juice and delicious.

I will go grocery shopping on Tuesday so that is why the menu carried over into next week.  Easy, yummy meals that tend to satisfy all the people in our house.
