20 Facts about me.

Everyone is doing these "Things you didn't know about me.." posts and instead of putting it on facebook I decided to do a blog.  I am just going to start going and see how many I get.  You may know these things, you may not.

1.  I am terrified of mice and the dark.  Always have been, and I guess I always will be.  When I was in high school and would come home and it was dark my dad has been known to hide and jump out at me when I was coming inside.  Definitely did not help the fear.

2.  I love all kinds of sweets.  Anything but dark chocolate.  Caramel and chocolate are heavenly.  I also love gummies, but they have to be certain kinds.  Welch's gummies or Brach's gummie bears.

3.  I have 3 boys that are my best friends and we play cards whenever we are all in the same town.  We have been doing this since high school.  Spades is our game of choice.  Caleb and I are always partners and Chris and Happy are always partners.  We actually wrote down official rules and signed them because the games got so competitive.  These same boys plus my husband have put together a plan should the apocalypse or something equal happen.  Or we could start our own commune.  We have a wide variety of skills and believe we could make it.

4.  I can sleep anywhere.  Especially the car.  If I ride for more than 10 minutes I am usually dosing off.  I have to sleep with my face covered up.  My dad used to hate it and I have woke up on the couch with him staring at me making sure I wasn't suffocating myself.  Ashley and Zack's little boy, Price, does it.  I had to assure her it was safe.  And the best way to sleep.

5.  My favorite movies are musicals.  I love new ones but old ones are my favorite.  I love Doris Day movies (Calamity Jane!!), Elvis movies, The Sound of Music, 7 Brides for 7 Brothers, and the list goes on.  White Christmas is one of my favorites.  My mom and I love to watch these together and sing along.  My dad usually lasts 5 minutes in the room with us before he heads for the door.

6.  Grease, Footloose, and Dirty Dancing are my 3 all time favorite movies.  I have seen the new ones and they were okay, but they do not compare to the old ones.

7.  Reading is one of my favorite things to do and I am always in the middle of a book.  I rarely watch the movies from the book because they just make me angry that they do not stay true to the book.  Such as, The Notebook.  That is not how it ends and there is a sequel.  Stupid movie people.  I was SUPER impressed with The Great Gatsby.  I reread it right before I watched it and it was very close to the book.

8.  My grandmother died when I was in 5th grade from breast cancer.  I have numerous great aunts who have fought the disease and some died.  I believe my risk factors are WAY high.  I will be tested for the gene and I will have a double mastectomy after I am done having children.  Also, a hysterectomy.  I believe in being ahead of the game.

9.  As a small child my feet turned the wrong way so I had to wear my shoes on the wrong feet to correct it.  It worked, and I actually have pretty feet.  People point it out.

10.  I am a huge sports fan.  I grew up watching football with my Daddy and baseball with my Momma.  Dustin jokes that I just may be a bigger football fan than he is.  I actually know what it going on and can have a conversation about it.  I hate girls who just wear the colors and don't know what is happening.  I am an Alabama fan, Braves fan(somehow the past few years I have found myself cheering for SanFran....I blame Sergio Romo.), TN Lady Vols.  I like to watch volleyball and tennis too.  I hate NASCAR, golf, and men's basketball.  Hockey is okay if there is a fight.  Soccer keeps my attention much more now than it used to.

11.   I played with dolls my entire childhood.  I treated them like real people.  They had to be buckled in, fed regularly, changed, etc.  I would even go with Granny to yard sales and buy them clothes.  I think it was part of God preparing me for my job now.

12.  I get deeply concerned for people and think I can fix all their problems if they would just listen to me.  This leads to me being way too bossy.  I am super analytical about people and situations and think I can figure everyone and everything out.  In my defense, I am usually right about people.

13.  I grew up playing sports.  I was the only female in my grade who played 3 sports.  They taught me lessons that get me through each day.  More than that, they extended my family more than I could have imagined.  There are girls that I may not see regularly but if they called, I would run in a heartbeat.  I also got close to their families.  2 of my former coaches I would consider close friends now.  Those are bonds that I believe wouldn't have happened without the enormous amounts of time we spent depending on one another on the field/court.

14.  I have only had one surgery my entire life and it was my senior year.  I gave myself a sports hernia acting stupid in the weight room.  I had surgery the day after basketball ended and I was back on the softball field in 3 weeks.

15.  2 weeks after my surgery I went to Washington, DC.  My favorite place on earth.  I got to do a lot of fun political stuff, but my favorite was the people I met.  I still talk to Cal(Nebraska) at least every other week.  Love seeing the adventures Emily(Mobile and now NY!) goes on.  Kyle(Mobile and now OleMiss) came to my wedding!  And Monica(Arizona) talk periodically.

16.  I got engaged in Vegas and honeymooned in NY and Canada.  We love to travel.  Can't wait to see where all we go.

17.  I consume an extremely large amount of coffee.  It helped me loose weight.  When I wanted something sweet, I fixed a cup.  The caffeine in it has never affected me.

18.  My senior year I got taped into a chair and rolled outside and left until a librarian let me out(the boys who did it thought it was hilarious), rolled the library, got caught kissing a boy outside the library..the dang library was the source of a lot of my troubles...almost fought a large boy because he was picking on a kid, got yelled at every morning for bringing food to 1st period, moved my car everyday even though weren't supposed to...so yeah, nothing really bad and never any punishment.  SO the last week of school, my mom and Charleston's mom begged us to go to school and get into trouble.  They said they had never had to come to the school to talk with the principal because of it and felt like they were missing out.  Like, they literally pleaded with us.  Yes, they are crazy.  We didn't do it and they were disappointed.

19.   The amount of crime shows that I watch is excessive.  I am constantly surveying my surroundings.  Dustin fears I could harm him and get away with it.  I also like reality TV but none of that housewives of wherever stuff.  I watch 19 Kids and Counting and Sisterwives and Duck Dynasty.  The Duggars faith is inspirational to me.  Their books are wonderful and helpful to someone who runs a house with 8 kids.  Sisterwives is intriguing.  I wouldn't want the life but I do like to see how they make it work and what exactly they believe.  Duck Dynasty...well, Jep.  Yep. Love him.  It's just a great show.  If you watch, you get it.

20.  I can build a trap/cage.  I only listed this one because I said this to my husband last week and he was shocked.  My Papa D owned a Fiberglass store that also sold traps and cages.  We filled large orders and I learned to do it at a young age.  Another thing that caused my husband to say out loud "What the heck?!' was we were watching Wifeswap because Ric Flair and Rowdy Roddy Piper were on it and I started shooting out wrestling facts.  He had no idea I was obsessed most of my childhood.  I actually got into trouble a lot as a child for putting a wrestling move on Josh and he would end up crying.  Mom didn't appreciate my skills.

This was so much fun!!!!  I doubt anyone is still reading but who cares?!
