I have meant to blog for weeks. But my good intentions went no further than my brain. I think about blogging a lot. In the shower, laying in bed, when I have a cool thought or something interesting happens. But, nothing got written. We haven'g had internet at the house in about 3 months. I am going to blame that. Walking to the office and sitting and putting my ideas down just was more difficult. So, while we were on off time this week, we finally got internet. Consider yourself lucky! I can blog freely now!
I had some 'spiritual thoughts' to blog. Some funny stories. But right now just a life update. I promise more to come in the next few weeks.
I last blogged in July. We went to camp that month and met some wonderful people who are foster parents or fellow house parents for ABCH. Have I told yall how much I love this organization?? SO thankful God led us here. I can't remember a lot about July. Sorry. My brain forgets a lot. It was filled with lots of kids.
August has brought some difficulties. I don't currently have relief house parents. So that meant Dustin and I worked 22 days straight before we got a break. 22 days with a 9 month old who wanted to be held or screamed at the top of her lungs. 22 days with kids who had never had rules before. 22 days with a kid who has some SEVERE issues. When our 4 day break happened it was like the gates of Heaven opened up! Beautiful. I got Granny's cooking, naps, sleeping late, Jeep rides, lunch with two of my favorite women(my Momma and Robbie Smith!), and lots of other wonderfulness. I also got a chance to spend some time with my Danville babies. That is something that always does my heart good. Nothing beats a sincere hug, "thank you,' and 'I love you." From 15-18 year old boys. All I did was cook them some pancakes. That is a blessing that will strengthen your heart and get you ready to take on the world. We came home to an almost empty house. Only 1 kid. Yes, a much needed slow down.
The next few weeks are going to be exciting. My baby brother(all 6 feet of him) is getting married in two weeks.
I also decided to start helping my mom with her Mary Kay business. I started wearing this makeup at the ripe age of 3. Yep. Nanny taught me to apply lipstick and blush at that age. Then we would go get in her pink car and deliver it. I don't want to be as big in it as she was. My schedule doesn't have that time. BUT if I can help someone have better skin because of this product and feel pretty in the process. Then, I am in. SO, if you are curious..ask me about it. We can find something for you. (Yes, that was a shameless plug. If you don't like it, don't read it) (sorry if that sounded ugly but this is MY blog.) Anywho, also...When did these lines under my eyes happen?!?! I just had to get eye cream. Holy Crap. Apparently kids really do age you. At this rate I will look 75 at age 30. Woohoo. (that was said with eye rolling and sarcasm.)
I know you people get tired of my mushy gushy stuff but I have to brag on my husband for a minute. I know what man I married. I also know what man I have witnessed deal with our kids the past few weeks. They are the same man in body but not in spirit. I was so proud watching him one night with one of the boys that I nearly cried. God really treated me extra special when he sent Dustin to me.
Well, that is all I have for now. Maybe you feel updated slightly. I would really love to hear from some of you who read this. It says like 80 people read the last one. That blows me away. Who are you people?? What kind of stuff do you want me to write about? I plan on doing this a lot more now, but I need ideas. HELP!!
