Matthew 10-12

My readership is going down daily.  I guess that is God seeing if I am doing this for Him or for the attention.  Ha!  I also asked a question yesterday and no one answered.  So I am not even sure if there is anyone reading or if people just click the link.  Oh well.  I am getting a lot out of this so if it just ends up being my diary, so be it.

Matthew 10:

-Disciple means Follower.  Apostle mean Sent One.

The Disciples were:  Simon Peter, Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew, James, Thaddeus, Simon, Judas.

Verse 16b:  "Be wise as serpents and innocent as doves."  I feel I and other Christians should be this way.  We should seek God's wisdom and always be aware of our surroundings, but we should strive to be innocent and just love.

Matthew 11:

Verse 6:  Don't be offended by Jesus or His teachings.

-John the Baptist was lowly yet so wise and Jesus held him in very high regards.

Verse 25:  Take the Word as a child.  God does not reveal things to people who see themselves as wise.

Matthew 12:

Verse 7:  **Jesus says "I desire mercy and not sacrifice"  again.**

Verse 33:  "A tree is known by its fruit."  We are not to be hypocritical.  We can look at people's fruits and see where they stand.  It is two-sided.  What do my fruits say about me?

Verse 34: "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks."  What comes from my mouth?  What does that say about my heart?  **embarrassed**

Verse 36-37:

I will stand before God the Father and Jesus my Lord and give an account for EVERY careless word.  I will be justified or condemned by my words.  That is such a scary thought.  I have been terrible.  This is where I feel like I will need a bath in the blood of Jesus.  I know one drop is sufficient though which puts me in AWE of the sacrificial blood.  Thank you Jesus for being willing to die a HORRIBLE death and shed that blood so that I can stand before you as Holy.
