Several people have asked questions about when we start and such, so this was the easiest way to get massive amounts of info to the whole 5 people who read my blog :) I am thankful for the people who read my blog. I get so much support, encouragement, and love from it. I never expected it. I love when things go FAR better than expected.
We start at the Children's Home(CH) on July the 2nd. We will actually stay overnight some that week. The month of July will be spent learning the procedures, shadowing, and becoming acquainted with the system. We officially take over Shelter on August 1st. The amount of prayers we need grows every day. Please pray that the excitement we have now continues. I don't want to be excited about it because it is new and then it fade. I truly believe that God has called us to do this, but I also know that just because God called me to do it does not mean that it will not be frustrating, demanding, and sometimes sad. I am praying, and asking you to join me that God gives us wisdom beyond our years. We are 24 and 26. We have no biological children. To outsiders, we probably were not great candidates to raise 8 kids at one time. Well, I serve a God that could care less about "normal" or what everyday people think. He knew that mine and Dustin's hearts were always with kids. He found a way for our jobs to be with kids, walking step by step with each other and him. We also will be in an environment where we can openly discuss with hurting kids the love of Jesus Christ. I am pretty sure I may have just been hired for the greatest job ever.
A big prayer for us right now is selling the house. Dustin and I have decided that to save money and not worry financially, selling is our best option. We know if we do not sale, we will be ok. But life will be easier if we do. SO, I am asking you the reader, my friend and prayer warrior, please join us in asking God to sell this house quick. Also pray for us finding a new church home away from home. Danville Baptist will be our home. The support and love we get there is unbelievable, but we know that God could have something else for us. Obviously He does because we are being called away from there. Pray that we find a new church family just as loving and that the church be somewhere that we can grow.
Lastly, for those of you who might be interested: Our church, Danville Baptist, will be having a commissioning service, to send us out into the mission field, on Sunday July 1st at 6pm. It will be followed by an ice cream supper and fellowship. I am pretty sure some volleyball and horseshoes will happen as well. :) So if you are looking for some fun that night, come eat some ice cream and play some games! We would love to see you!
