For those of you who are keeping up with the weight loss...I am still hanging around 155. I blame this on the fact that I had a wedding last weekend and ate WAY too many sweets. I have done much better this week.
Now..on to the wedding. Charleston Wilson is my best friend. We have been since 4th grade. We work well together because we are probably the only two people who would have the other one for their best friend. I don't have many female close friends because there is too much drama and I don't trust many of them. She is the same way. I am bossy, take charge no matter who is in my way, and have a smart mouth. She is spoiled, manipulative, and can be a brat. AND WE LOVE EACH OTHER UNCONDITIONALLY. You wanna see two girls scream, cry, and have it out then turn around literally 2 minutes later and act like nothing just happened, we are the two for you. When we were in high school it amazed people that we could do that, but we just know how the other functions. We stand up to each other and keep each other in check. I am the eternal optimist(which can be bad if you refuse to see how a situation can blow up) and she is the eternal pessimist. We balance each other out to help see the reality in the situation. When she met Jordan, I loved him for her immediately. They have dated off and on since we were seniors. Every time they broke up, I told her she was just dragging her heels because she knew she was going to marry her. Dustin is the only person in this world who would put up with me and Jordan is the only person who would put up with her. You reading this may say, gosh that is terrible...No, God created a perfect person to match our needs and those two boys fit ours perfectly. Strong willed girls like us need a man who knows when to stand up to us. We also need somebody who sees that that strong willed girl sometimes just wants to NOT have to lead and just be a princess and be taken care of. They do this wonderfully. When she text me the picture of her ring and that she had said yes on Halloween of last year, I couldn't have been happier. After much mind changing and planning, the wedding was set for October of 2011 at the beach. Planning took place and all was getting ready. Then life happened. Charleston text me in late June and said I am coming to your work I have something I have to tell you to your face. I was scared, a million bad things went through my head(ok, my eternal optimist didn't kick in here). She showed up and I met her at the door. With tears in her eyes, all she could say was "We are moving to Phenix City." I immediately said "With Coach Heaps!" after telling me they were both going to have jobs and Jordan would be Coach Heaps' assistant Coach I said "That is WONDERFUL!" She looked at me, again with tears, and said "Is it?" She needed to be affirmed and I did so. That began a day of canceling a venue, caterer, and flowers, and quickly planning a hometown wedding. She did it though (with lots of her Mom's help-shout out to Anna!). She put together the prettiest wedding I have ever seen. God blessed her that day with sun so we could get pics. As soon as pics were done, He gave us rain to cool it down, and then stopped it for the ceremony. Then came the hard part. Through all the hustle and bustle I had refused to think about the fact that she was moving. 4 HOURS AWAY. She and I have never been the kind of best friends to have to see each other all the time and tell each miniscule detail of our lives. We have husbands for that. But we have been each others support and constant in a life that is constantly changing. I woke up the morning of the wedding and apparantly it hit me. I cried twice before I was even dressed to leave. After the wedding, when the goodbyes happened...the tears flowed. They are trying to appear again as I am typing this but I am fighting it. We have always been 10 mins away at the most. We could get there in no time, if the other one needed us. Goodbye was hard. Very hard. BUT I watched her drive away with her forever love who has her back no matter what and LOVES HER UNCONDITIONALLY. They are gonna do great and be so successful in their new life together. AND, even more exciting, she has a guest room :) SO they better believe this girl will be visiting, oh and that boy I married because, THANK GOD, he and Jordan get along wonderfully! SO JP and Charleston, I love you and I miss you but I am so glad God has given you this wonderful opportunity. Use it for His glory and have fun along the way!
