My Weight Watchers Adventures.

I am assuming if you read my blog you care somewhat about me and the happenings of my life.  If not..then I have NO idea why the heck you read what I write.  SO because I assume you wanna hear about my life, I am going to write about my new found enjoyment of Weight Watchers(WW).  I know you think enjoyment is a crazy word to use, but I will explain that part later.

I have became increasingly dissatisfied with my weight for a long time.  I took up running about a year ago to attempt to change it.  I never lost a pound.  BEWARE I AM ABOUT TO DIVULGE MY WEIGHT!!  I have weighed 160 for about a year now.  No more, no less.  I could work my butt off and be 160.  I could eat a TON and be 160.  It made me so mad.  It was frustrating because if I am going to run 4 times a week, I want to see some progress.  Yes, I felt better and yes, I know it toned my legs some, but that darn scale never made a move and it made me so mad.  This leads me to about a little over a month ago.  I read Candace Cameron Bure's book Reshaping It All.  She does not diet.  She excercises and just watches what she eats.  It was also how to handle your eating and life in a Godly way.  I reccommend the book.  I just don't do a good job watching what I eat.  I cheat too much.  About 3 weeks ago, I came across a WW Diary app for my phone.  Enter intrigue.  I began doing some research online and decided this new Points Plus system might be ok.  Veggies are 0 points.  Fruit is 0 points.  And best yet, my Dt. Mt. Dews are 0 points!!  I did not join online because I am cheap.  I downloaded a FREE app, researched online for FREE, and found a FREE restaurant guide online.  I set my mind to it and I am really enjoying it.  I also decided that I would get up when Dustin did and do a morning workout.  It is a 20 minute aerobic with light weights DVD.  I had to stop running because I hurt my back and the chiro told me the running was doing it.  To prove him wrong I waited 2 weeks and let my back heal and decided to run again yesterday.  I proved him right.  My back hurt so bad afterwards.  SO no more running.  BUT anyways..I eat an apple for breakfast(I am not a big breakfast person, so this is good with me!)  And an Apple is 0 points!!  For lunch I usually run to O'Bryans and get some wild rice and a sweet potato with butter and brown sugar.  It is a total of 11 points.  So I still have a lot of points for supper.  Sometimes I shake it up for lunch and use my restaurant list and make WAY better choices than before.

This brings me to last Saturday.  I stepped on the scale with no expectations.  I expected that 160 to pop up like always and much to my amazement....155!! I did a happy dance around Lisa's living room.  Motivation kicked into a new gear.  I am really enjoying this, and here is why:  I am a nerd.  This is just another number game for me.  I get so pumped figuring out points and how much and what I can have.  The math nerd in me leaps for joy.  Who knew my nerdiness would eventually help me lose weight!?!  I am hoping so very much to continue this weight loss.  If I could continue to lose 2.5 pounds a week you will hear ALL about it I promise! :)

  1. You go, girl! I will totally have to look into the points system and all that good stuff now. I refuse to pay money to lose weight that I might now even lose anyway, so free is GOOD for me! :) Keep us updated on your journey!
