National Championship Game

We head back to Danville tomorrow!  We won’t be there long though…  We get on a plane early Sunday morning for Phoenix, Arizona.  We have tickets to the National Championship Game.  I am excited.  It is my first college football game ever.  Dustin says I am destined for a lifetime of disappointment after this because nothing will ever match it.  I am NOT an Auburn fan.  BUT I love flying and traveling, so if my hubby was going so was I.  We are meeting up with Chris Vest and John Tanner Sunday in Phoenix.  We have the rental car so we have to pick them both up.  We are all 4 sharing a hotel room.  We all fly home Wednesday.  Yes, you read right…that is 3 days for John to get into some kind of mischief in a different state. Uh oh.  This is kind of my CHRISTmas present to Dustin.  When we started dating I was a Braves fan and a Bama fan.  He was a Red Sox and Auburn fan.  I could get into the Red Sox.  Always kind of liked them and loved their rivalry with the Yankees who I HATE.  So he converted me to a RedSox fan.  I have always told him that my Daddy raised me right and I will never be an Auburn fan, and that has not changed.  But I do want them to beat Oregon because I am SEC all the way.  I told him I would go and be super supportive and he is loving it.  We went to Academy the other day to buy me some Auburn gear…he was beaming helping me pick out shirts.  He told me he never thought this would happen.  I am glad he is enjoying it and I am being a good sport because it means so much to him.  It is definitely going to be a trip we won’t forget.  Going to a National Championship could very well be a once in a lifetime experience and I am glad I can do it with him by my side.  Wish we were going to be decked out in Crimson, but that is how it goes.  Love is a powerful thing.  I told him for one day I will say War Eagle with him, but in my mind, I am saying Go SEC!  I will be glad when baseball season gets here and we can both happily cheer on the BoSox.  Until then, I will bear it and grin and say he owes me!
