Sorry I skipped yesterday. I woke up at 4am to go to work and was there until like 5 or 6(I don't remember). Then my wonderful husband took me to the mall to eat and find some purple shoes. We are cheap and pretty broke so we set our limit at 20 dollars. We looked in several store and finally settled on a pair of purple flats at the very first place we looked that were 19.99. We got to the register and they were 5 dollars. Thank you Jesus, I love when you give me blessings like that. Since we didn't spend that much money we bought some ice cream and sat and people watched together for a while. It was a nice random date.
We head home tonight. I am excited for what my weekend holds. I graduate tomorrow from Athens State University with Math degree and teaching certification. It has been a long 4 and a half years but I made it. The cool part is that I graduate the same day as two of my very best friends. Charleston Wilson graduates with her Special Education degree and Chris Vest graduates with a Business Degree(I forget the specifics, it changed once or twice). Since we all graduate at different times, we are going to have a "thing" tomorrow night with each other and our families and some friends. Fun times!
Sunday is the CHRISTmas program at church and Dustin and I are the narrators. I love music but can't sing to save my life so this is my way to participate without killing peoples ears. Doug randomly asked Dustin and I to do it and I am very thankful that he did. I just have to remember and force myself not to talk fast...those of you who know me know that this is terribly difficult. But I will do my best. Thank you God for not asking for perfection but just my best.
Now to Monday, Dustin bought me Garth Brooks tickets for my graduation present. This was one of those things I wanna do before I die. I never thought I would get a chance. Garth went into retirement before I really was into concerts and his Vegas show is always sold out, plus I don't know when I will get to go to Vegas again. When I heard this announcement on the radio I was so excited. I told Dustin I would sale my kidney if that meant we could go. He searched the internet and got us good tickets. I am so lucky to have such a great guy. He knew how much I wanted it and did everything in his power to make it happen. Thank you Dustin Lee.
And for those of you wondering, we made it through working together yesterday. We loaded a truck(i kinda helped), I watched the office while he drove to Dothan, I put a chair half way together, I put a shelf thing half way together...after the shelf thing..he fired me. HA! Kidding, well he did say I was fired but it was a joke. I just am not gonna go back until their is actually a phone line for me to answer and internet service for me to help with emails and route and such. We have the benefit that we are always brutally honest with each other and know where the other one stands. We also don't hold grudges so working together is easier for us. We know when to ignore the other one and stay out of their way. So we will be good.
Have a great weekend everyone! Hope to see most of you who read this sometime this weekend! Love you!

I also love Garth. I got to see him live, early on in his career when the group Alabama hosted the June Jam. He was fantastic then and I am sure he is still over-the-top. He is a great entertainer.
ReplyDeleteYou were on my mind today. I am very proud of you, Charleston and Chris. Enjoy your day and take in the moment. I didn't walk when I received my BS degree and my dad was hugely disappointed. I walked for my MS to make up for it and will walk in April for the final time. YEA!
Love you!
